I developed many IVRs, from the simplest to the most complex ones with integration with remote/external database.
All the PBXs that I have implemented have an IVR of this type, sorted by time, by departments, directing calls to a department or extension.
I made some IVRs of this type, especially the satisfaction survey ones, where the user's response is stored in a database for quality analysis.

I built two large IVRs with these characteristics, where any data search was done in a remote database through web services. In some cases the information that needed to be stored was also sent via SOAP/Rest to the systems.
